Year 12 student, 2020

“Considering I first came with zero idea about what I wanted to study, the experience was extremely worthwhile. I was able to find out more about myself and use this to focus my strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, into a direction that would be the most beneficial to myself. The amount of work and research done by Mrs Eddy was one of the biggest reasons for the success, as I was able to truly understand the benefits and disadvantages of each option before deciding.”

Darcy (returning to University coaching)  2020

“Entering my mid twenties I had come across a career crossroads. To pursue loftier goals in a current field I was growing impatient with, or start afresh and try something new? Being years removed from study, Therese was an encouraging voice of reason. Helping reassess what was important to me and establishing goals to overcome the roadblocks I had placed upon myself. I always felt optimistic after chatting with Therese and I am left feeling confident and excited with what the future holds.”

Kelly (grateful parent), 2019

“I would recommend Open to Success for any help and advice with Uni and further study decisions and not just UQ. Therese was fantastic with Lucy’s JCU Vet application and college application. Especially working in with Lucy’s no phone reception and limited internet access while she is working in the Hunter Valley. Helping with college application letters and other items. Nothing was too much trouble and excellent efficient service navigating our way through the enrolment process was so much easier.”

Wendy (concerned parent), 2018

“All of a sudden, we found ourselves struggling to support our first year university student! He was living away from home for the first time – and half way across the country!  As parents, we had underestimated the impact of all that was “new” for him.   His course was tough, aspects of city life were new and it was clear that we all needed some help. The support we received from Open to Success put things to right.  Therese was able to meet with our son immediately, she quickly established what was required, and helped us all to put a plan in place.  Beyond that, she was available to guide him with subsequent decisions and to “uncloud” what can be a pretty murky process. He is now on track for a fresh start academically in 2019.  We knew immediately that he was settled and comfortable with all the advice that Therese provided, that he was able to proceed with confidence, and that he had a coach – and a friend – close at hand to help navigate the changes.”
